The bright red/purple-toned 2021 Nizza Riserva Bricco is also Barbera but from soils more similar to those within Barolo. It saw a longer aging of one year in barrique and two years in large barrels. The nose has a lovely, bright, fresh lift with nice focus, its red-fruited highlights shining through currants, wildflowers, plum, and cedar. Medium-bodied and compact, with bright acidity, ripe, supple tannins, and a clean, mineral-noted finish, it offers more nervous energy and will drink and age well over the next 6-8 years.
